Our Mission

Our mission is to halt the current Supreme Court confirmation process and advocate for the electoral defeat of senators who, in 2016, grounded their refusal to hold confirmation hearings for Merrick Garland on the principle that Supreme Court Justices should not be confirmed during an election year.

Our Story

Like many ventures, Supreme Billboards was created to fill a gap in a market. Our "market" is the sphere of public political engagement, and the "gap" we fill was discovered by our founder, Jesse, late one September evening.

Jesse had just finished calling and writing to his senators, John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, urging them to act in accordance with the principles they espoused in 2016 regarding election-year SCOTUS nominations. He was feeling frustrated by the lack of impact he felt his current tools, email and phone, afforded him. What he wanted was a medium of communication he could access that would be physically impossible for his senators to ignore. While meditating on this desire, he thought, "I wonder where the closest billboard to Ted Cruz's house is. How do you go about buying a billboard, anyways?"

After a few hours of learning about billboard procurement on the internet, the prospect of putting a billboard up near Ted Cruz's house seemed surprisingly achievable. The more Jesse researched, the more resolved he became to follow through on his idea.  He gathered a group of friends, got to work over the weekend, and on the following Monday we had registered with the FEC as a Super PAC and Supreme Billboards was born! Within days, we had already launched two billboards, one in Texas and another in Colorado.

Our nationwide billboard campaign is ongoing, and we welcome contributions of all kinds: financial, in-kind, and volunteering. We hope you will join us in helping hold senators accountable for their Supreme hypocrisy!
